Top 5 Reasons to Become a Travel PT:

#1 – Adventures!

In this mini-series have gone into the Top 5 reasons to become a travel PT.  Over the last few days we have been diving into both the obvious and the unspoken reasons for becoming a travel therapist.

Check out the other Top 5 Reasons:

Leading the way in our Top 5 Reasons to Become a Travel PT is Adventures!

Ok, Ok.  Lets be honest.  If you didn’t see this one coming it’s totally on you.  The site is named PT Adventures  after all!

Travel PT Adventures are the absolute greatest for a variety of reasons.  Here I will go into just 3.  But they are a pretty awesome 3!

First, every day is a new experience.  Living in a new town engulfs you in novelty.  You are surrounded by new sights and new sounds. If you are on contract in a new region of the United States you may even experience what seems like a whole new culture.  By being a travel therapist and actually living in unfamiliar locations, you get to see a considerably more textured and robust picture of what life is like in your new tiny segment of the world.

For some of you this may seem unnerving at first, but then again, no great and worthwhile adventure every came easy.

“The danger of an Adventures is worth a thousand days of ease and comfort.” – Paulo Coelho

Second, Travel PT Adventures can be big or small, long or short, expensive or free.  The freedom that comes with travel PT, as discussed in our #2 Reason to Become a Travel PT, lets you decide what experiences you was to enjoy.  Whether it is incredible international trips like our buddy Julia of the Traveling Traveler site, or simply a night out in a new part of town, whatever your appetite is for adventure, travel therapy makes it possible! (Ellen wrote a great piece about squeezing every last drop of adventure out of an assignment.  You can find it HERE.)

Third, Travel PT Adventures can be completely customizable.  Obviously, Ellen and I gravitate considerably towards the active outdoor adventures.  But that doesn’t have to be the same for you!  As a travel PT you can explore new cities, experience local culture, cuisine, or whatever it is you city people love so much about cities.  Its all available to you!

At the end of the day, the most wonderful part about travel therapy is that you are living a Choose Your Own Adventure story all your own!  No longer are you confined to a few weeks of excitement every year.  Every day can be an adventure if you choose to make it so!
